I think that Albertans have the best taste in guitars. I have done more custom builds for folks from the "Wild Rose Country" than any other area. Rob called me and we went over what he wanted in a Cruzcaster. Drawn first of all to the unique good looks, we built it on a light coloured body with a darker burst around the edges. Being born in 1973 he asked about a plate of that vintage. I just happened to get a few plates from my brother that week and one was a beautiful 1973 from Alberta. Destiny. He really wanted a Maple fretboard but I have stayed away from them because the new ones are very bright looking and don't suit a rustic guitar, but I found a way to give it the amber vintage look and it now matches the body nicely. You want straight up Tele sound? Again, a set of Seymour Duncan Vintage Broadcasters is hard to beat.
