#060  Train   (Sold)

This has been the longest build from start to finish, but has been a joy.  Justin called me from Texas and wanted me to build him a cool guitar so the talks started.  He then called back and said that before doing a guitar for himself he wanted to surprise his dad with a guitar.  He said his dad was his best friend. Well, right away I liked that and wanted to be part of it.  His dad and locomotives go back a long way so he wanted a custom leather pick guard made.  After going through some drawings and colour options he had this beauty made, and a month later it showed up here.
I thought the black body would kind of give it the look of an old black steam locomotive and go well with the pick guard.  I put the copper control plate and then adorned the headstock with a bit of copper.  He sent a .45 shell all the way from Texas to control the Seymour Duncan Vintage Broadcasters.  It looks and sounds great.
His only problem now is to have the patience to wait until fathers day to give it to him.  I don’t think he will, but we’ll see.
